GTAV - Tips, Tricks and Spoilers!
Hi, this is not meant to be a reveal spoiler. (We are already all playing the game as I write, (Now Saturday 21st Sept 2013) ).What I mean by GTAV - Tips, Tricks and Spoilers, is. Tips as an overall theory or method of play; Tricks - (NOT what you think, but the tricks that I think Rockstargames missed). And finally Spoilers, is again NOT what you think, rather what I think is spoiling the GTA5 game.

- Note- Here's my glossary before you start....
- R* = RockStarGames. (or just RockStar).
- RL = Real Life.
- RT = Real time - 1 minute is really one minute.
- GT = Game time - 1 minute is RT 1 second (so 24 minutes in GTA5 is one day)!
- WTF? Means What The Funk? (Not swearing at you, So don't F...,,g say I'm swearing 'cause I don't F.....g swear), I'm a FUNKer and I Funk around all day, My mother is a funker and I am a mother funkers son!
GTAV-Tips:-
Bang through the missions as quick as you can and don't waste time wondering off and playing-cars. Like messing about stealing a plane and opening up all of the map. It is not necessary, the map will be revealed as and when you need it! Or like playing sniper from the train and having good old fun like that, all the time of course, you are not doing missions.
If you bang on through the missions, it will open up new things on the map. I'm not sure if I understand why RockStar did it this way, by opening access to various in-game stores and features at different points as you play. WHY? That seems to me to be one of the old faults with linear games. And maybe its a hanger-on from those linear games. Are the game designers are trapped in old thought patterns perhaps?
Look RockStarGames, GTA5 is awsome, I love what you've done! However, Why is it that when you start off in the game, many things are not available to the player, (I thought we'd talked about this before)? Shops and things for sale or use should all be open to the player from the very start, with the only thing restricting accesss being lack of cash ,(or skill level to use whatever it is), or even a licence (or permission), to use it in the game. Which then leads you to want to accomplish the missions to get the money.
When things are not available to us, we don't have a choice as to what to save for. I just spent all my cash on car mods and then the game revealed that I could purchase the Tow Truck Company? And other things like that.
I should be told at the airport gate, that I cannot legally pass, without authorisation and only licenced pilots can get authorisation. etc. (Yes, I should still be able to steal the planes as we currently can do, but what annoyed my is that I thought I would get access to the airport if I got all-gold in flight school. It was not till much later that I discovered that you could buy a hanger. (Because R* didn't reveal it). Why wasn't I told about that at the start of the game? (That sort of spoiled GTA5 for me- as per one of my spoilers, mentioned later in this article),
The only restrictions whould / should have been that I don't have the cash to buy a hanger at the airport and no reason to by it because I have no air-plane to store in it. Plus, that I cannot legally fly the plane out of the hanger.
All that would fit into RL rules. I should still be able to own a plane, even if I cannot fly it. Re- my right-hand man or henchman, who would be able to fly, flys my plane with me as a passenger, and then I could also access the hanger, if I have the pilot-henchman with me. He would fly it off the runway legally and I would take over. (until I had the required licence and authorization).
GTA5-Tricks:-
This is where I mean, what tricks RockStarGames have missed a trick:-
- Like R* could have given us the use of the car transporter. It doesn't work - does it? I tried, but unless it is currently locked to me at my level, it does not work. You missed a trick there R*, We would have loved to play cars with that.
- Like the fork-lift truck works, like we ask for, except that there is nothing for us to lift with it or play with. We should be able to load anything and everything onto trucks, into skips and store palleted goods in warehouses etc. None of that. WTF were RockStar thinking when they built us a forklift but gave us nothing for it to lift. Yes, the empty container handler was perfect, but it only appeared, (as far as I currently am aware), in the docks robbery mission. I have never seen it since! See next trick that R* missed..
- The empty container handler. (and the fork lift trucks), in the Dock Robbery mission, you impersonated a dock worker and had to do a couple of jobs to keep your cover, Re - moving two empty containers and driving the big loading crane. That was exciting! - I would have though R* would have let us also do mundane regular work, (like you can do taxi-driving jobs and earn daily income, till your hearts content). That's just like in RL. I should be able to go-to-work as a normal job and work on the docks, moving containers. (No 'TIMED' missions please! Except that if you work slow you only earn a little, as you get paid on how many you move, per move). Then you get a bonus if you can move 'X' amount in a morning session or afternoon session.
- RockStar really missed a big trick by not giving us the trunk or boot of the car to use for storage of guns and ammo or to carry stock, goods, bodies-dead-or-alive and a whole heap of other fun things. In RL we can use the boot of the car, to hide or carry packages, drugs and guns, ammo.
- There are many other things, but I will leave it here for now and write again in a future post.
GTA5-Spoilers:- Things that spoil the game, NOT REVEALS!
Cars dissapearing even faster than they did in GTA4 - WTF? WTF? WTF? RockStar really messed this up big time! If Skyrim and many other games can have; lets say, something like a sword etc,- with lots of stats and mods attached to it, that can be stored and / or left anywhere in the game; Then why can't R* do it with cars? If you park a car (unless it is stolen by a thief), it should remain parked where it is, in place till you return. Unless you park it blocking a road or obstructing pedestrians or anything else.
If it is a car that you have already stolen, it could be impounded, since at least after say two days, someone would have noticed the car and reported it, or a traffic cop would have passed by and discovered it was a stolen car. In which case it would be returned to the owner for collection via the police impound. (as it currently is in GTA5 for the player).
What RockStar got really wrong there also, was that they are returning impounded STOLEN cars to the player, (if you cough up $250 (and that's also the wrong price structure)), but if the car was one you stole! So, it should not be returned to you!
Other spoilers -
- Some businesses that are available to you, disappear after a certain time has passed, if you cannot afford to buy them. (I THINK. - But I might be worng), but if I am right then - WTF? Its not a reveal is it, in the other spoiler sence? Most people will already know from early-on in the game that you can run the tow truck business. But, later, why does the TOW TRUCK business vanish?
- You carry too many guns! :- R* still messed this up. Like from GTA4, a post I wrote was about, where does Niko put that rocket launcher? R* still have you carring an unreal amount of guns and ammo. Totally un-believable. You should have to carry a hold-all or wear a Matrix style long coat to hide your weapons. And be able to store them in the trunk / boot of car.
- Spoiler:- R* did not give us the use of the truk / boot of the car. See - another tick R* missed!
- Races should take place only in Real Time not in Game Time! One minute should be one minute. I did one race and it literally took me 4 GT hours. THAT IS REALLY STUPID R*!
- That's my whining done for today!
