GTA V News - Possible October Release!

Yo, this is Niko!
GTA V News - Possible October Release!
I don't want to just jump on the band wagon here, because everyone and his dog is barking about GTA V possibly being released in October 2012.

This seems to follow the year plus time-frame of how RockStarGames usually releases news of a game as big as GTA5, about a year before its actual release. Since the first trailer video was released last October, I thought I'd just stick my ore in the water too.

  • One comment that backs this up, (as you will read if you follow the links). “We believe that October is the preferred release month for GTA V’s developer, Rockstar Games, as the studio has scheduled every prior GTA release during that month (with the exception of GTA IV delayed to April 2008, due to bugs in the PS3 version).” By Tyler Lee on 05/10/2012.

Remember, as I always say, there is only one way to really get the true and official news from RockStar and that is at www.RockStarGames.com/v/ it is as simple as that. Currently, RockStar have said nothing on their site. You cannot even trust what is being said on the GTA News Wire, because some of the posts are inaccurate or wrongly worded responses to misconceived questions asked by the general public.

  • Another comment I partly agree with though, is this. (again; as you will read if you follow the links). "While so much of these types of predictions are smoke and mirrors, we can never fully predict the future by looking at the past. -
  • Rockstar time and time again have shown that they prefer focusing on one and only one AAA game release each year, and Max Payne 3 has that distinction already for 2012.
  • Furthermore, ever since the April 2008 release of GTA 4, Rockstar have found that they can basically own the springtime rather than getting bogged down in the noise of Holiday-season releases". By: Jesse Lord  on 05/10/2012.
  • My problem with these comments are that, it simply is not the case, that RockStar concentrate on one and only one triple A game.
  • If anything, RockStarGames have too many different projects running simultaneously. It is because of this, that heads-of-office in corporate jobs and in red-tape fashion, push the independent development teams to get games released that are not always ready.
  • If you have experienced a story line that seems to peter-out, or a side missions that seems unrelated to the main game, that is usually a sign of this corporate tampering and forcing.
  • I have a friend who is a top games designer; who will remain anonymous, who says; We are pushed to stop story-line-development and cut things short. Then, although the story still seems to make sense, it is often a shortened version of what was originally intended.
There is a clue to this corporate-cutting-short, of a story-line.
If you take a look at your GTA4 Liberty City Guidebook (the game manual, packaged with your GTA4 game on CD rom). Page 8 shows locations we can access like Perestroika, Memory Lanes, Honkers and the Split Sides comedy club.

The bar guide on P12, shows you can go in The Stineway Beer Garden, Comrades Bar, Luck Winkles and the Homebrew Cafe bars too. But, on page 10, you cannot go in Al Dente's or Drusilla's (two out of four). And again on page 7, you can go in the prison and the roller-coaster (its 100 years old and they do say in the book you cannot ride it), but the P45 building; The National Union Of Contemporary Arts (NUCA) building, the text suggests that you can go in, just like with the text from Al Dente's and Drusilla's Restaurants.

"RockStar are not usually in the habit of showing you something,
that is not going to be available in the game!"

I for one think that these locations were originally intended to work in the game, the artwork and layout of the game book guide had already been produced, when the decision was taken to complete the game in a shorter time and disregard these other things.

RockStar are not usually in the habit of showing you something that is not going to be available in the game. Which is why we are getting a lot of speculation over dogs, planes, convertible cars with electric roofs, jeeps, ability to play golf, rock climb and surf with the surfboards, among'st many other things in GTA5 like gyms and anything we previously had in GTA SA.

Making a game, from start to end, for a company like Take-2-Interactive (who own RockStar), have no problems with deciding on what to concentrate on. These games are developed by independent teams. So Take 2 nor RockStarGames its-self have to think, of which project to concentrate on.

The development team given the job of producing the game are the ones doing the concentrating. And they do not usually work on more than one game at a time. The Executive and chief heads of departments and people like Benzies, the Housers et al, give major input yes. But, they just dictate what they want and their team goes to work and makes it happen.

Apart from in the cases where, like Dan Houser (with Rupert Humphries), has written all of the cut-scenes, games dialogue and directed the cut-scenes personally for GTA4. But, the core labor, of producing the images, movement and game coding that all takes time; is done by the team.

I know from personal experience as a writer, that the writing of the story and ideas for missions, planning and interlinking everything does take a lot of time and skill. This is where the Housers shine!

If you want to follow the GTA Newswire, go here...

I should say that there is a better chance of getting truthful and accurate info from the Newswire, rather than watching so called 'Official-GTAV YouTube Videos' (made by YT users), or listening to the crap people are spouting on their blogs. Not like this blog though, I will always back up what I tell you, with a link - (usually to RockStarGames (as above)).

  • By Tyler Lee on 05/10/2012 06:40 PDT Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5's release date is still pretty much a mystery to all. Analysts have suggested a possible launch at E3 due to the number of people they can reach, and now thanks to an analyst ...Go read it here!
Pachter and Co. Slate GTA V for October Release.
  • By: Jesse Lord  on 05/10/2012. Given news yesterday of Irrational Games' decision to push the release of Bioshock Infinite back to February 2013, Michael Pachter and Wedbush believe that primes the pump for a Grand Theft Auto V release in that October 2012 hole that the delay caused ...Go read it here!
And so it goes on, I have over a dozen of these GTA V Pending Release Articles. But, the truth is only  time will tell and if it is not reported on the www.RockStartGames.com/v/ then it is probably not true.

Don't you think that R* themselves would want to give the news about the pending release of their top AAA game? But, with that said, I hope they are right, I cannot wait, bursting with anticipation and I want GTA5 now, ASAP!

Have a great day!
Niko.
