GTA The Trashmaster Movie

GTA The Trashmaster Movie Review.

First things first, this movie is best watched in parts rather than trying to watch the whole video in one go. This is only because you might get a connection break, the video may lock-up or your computer might freeze. In addition, you can easily take a snack break!

This is a great story and is just what I am trying to do and say, that people really love doing side missions and shit. In this film, you are a vigilante, I won’t spoil the story for you, so if you are listening to the reader, stop it in a second when I say and go and watch the movie first.

The contrast and brightness could have done to be better, the picture was too dark in places and I could not see anything! I experimented with three of my computers but to no avail! I even tried a download and watched it in Real Player, this worked best, but it was still too dark in places!

I have compiled a play-list in YouTube for you, pop out the full screen to enjoy the movie and make sure you catch the trailer to the film before you see the film! Go watch it now! Then please come back after the movie and listen to my updates that I would have in the story.

Here's the trailer!

My Changes.
Now, I would have had it where you first have to work through the trash-man missions working for the city, till you have been promoted to the level where you are the foreman of the city works, before you could unlock the Trash-master Vigilante missions.

When you are the Foreman, you could cover-up and sign away damages to vehicles. Get your workforce to cover for you. Employ men with your interests at heart who are loyal to you.

You would not get the sack for damages to the vehicles done whilst you were using them. You can then also get the businesses vehicles repaired by the company without question or cost to yourself!

On that last point, in addition, ‘great minds think alike’, I had said that in jobs of work, like in the Car Showrooms businesses, the car transporter and car salesman occupations, you would have to pay to get the works vehicles fixed yourself without your bosses knowing, if you damaged them, as the cost would come out of your wages anyway and you would get a bollocking too. Also, if that cost exceeded your wage, that you would get the sack! This was in the film!

Next, getting your friends, workmates, henchmen, to ‘take-the-fall’ for you. As I have said in several posts. In this great film, Niko, got his workmates to help him and even switched vehicles with one of them, so that Niko could get to his rendezvous with the killer whilst the cops chased his decoy. Great stuff! What are friends for anyway?

An alteration would be to the Trash-master job, that like with some of the other types of city jobs in the game. I would have had radio communications in the Trash-master vehicles similar to a standard taxi radio.

More to the Trash-master Job.
Obviously, in the film, Niko had a police radio in the Trash-master cab, but I would have this as an extra hand-held radio, (like in the film), that you can purchase and lose and have to re buy.

There are two types of work done by the Trash-master vehicle. One is with two guys on the back, who jump on and off, putting refuse sacks into the back of the compacter. This is usually for residential properties and you have also to be quiet if the shift is an early morning job!

The second type of work is for business premises collection, where the Trash-master truck operates from the drivers position only. The driver, drives up to the large blue or green skip bin and inserts the trash-master vehicles fork lift forks, that then lift the bin over the cab. The lid opens as the forks tip the waste into the compactor at the top!

This allows the whole collection to be done with one guy, with the exception that if the bins are the wrong way round, you have to leave the cab to turn it round. You can have the option to take just one or two guys with you on this job. Blue is for recyclable paper, green is for glass and plastics, brown for foods, black or grey for all other waste.

On residential collection, it is usual to have at least two guys on the back, but you can have up to four guys with you. This makes up the five-man team that fits in with the style and structure that I have used in other occupations ideas.

Also, did you notice in the film, (at about twenty minutes into the start of the movie, where he was applying to be a police officer), that Niko had a ruck-sack (and was waiting at a bus-stop). This is in line with being able to carry all the stuff Niko carries realistically! Great minds think alike again!

There was a bit of stealth in the film, with Niko having to climb on top of his Trash-master to get up to the roof of the strip-club. This is great, just what we want. Stealth, and the ability to take out guards with or without killing them and being able to hog-tie and gag them, then hide their bodies.

On the life-style front, did you notice in the film, that Niko had to wash his own clothes. (We saw him sitting waiting and pondering his next move), whilst in the laundrette watching the washing machines and presumably waiting for his wash to finish!

There would be on a switch in the options menu for those who don’t give a shit about washing, eating, pissing, changing clothes, changing your hair style and getting tattoos, or going to the gym to change your physique like CJ in GTA San Andreas, etc.

The lifestyle side of this game would be full on. You cannot realistically stay awake indefinitely, but you can in GTA4, TLaTD and TBoGT! But as I’ve also said, there should be a switch, to turn off the domestic side of your GTA life, just as you could also choose to turn off the BG music or alter your controller layout!

Another thing from the film, is the implication that everyone has to have an address in the game world. In the strip-club, the names and addresses of the strippers and other staff working at the strip club are in the strip-clubs computer database in the office. This is again, what I have talked about in missions where you work for a company and the company has employees.

You have a personnel file within companies that they work for, that is more detailed than your own contact details that you may have for someone. If you find this information on the PC after you have met someone, you can update the details you have in your contacts. Or collect details relevant to a mission or job that you are on.

Say, you meet someone and yet don’t have their home address. but, you know where they work, (you can follow them, or maybe they just tell you where they work), you can then break-in to their place of work and access their details by hacking the works computer!

Once you find their home address you can break-in and steal from them when you know they are going to be at work, (if no-one else is at home). There is less chance if you also know they live alone and are at work.

You find out stuff about people this way too, they may have a guns or drugs stash or be growing weed, or have a cocaine cutting and distribution side-line, or be into sexual fetishes, etc. This gives you leverage and blackmail possibilities, (look in their bedroom closet and under the bed). They may keep guns in the house. (Steal them or otherwise, you know that they are possibly up to no good by having the guns).

You could also copy and steal their identity, by getting their papers to the forger, to make up a copy with your picture- (but with you slightly disguised). Then return their identification papers before they realise they are missing.

You can then rent or buy cars, clothes and goods on credit with the stolen identities, or use the stolen identities when stopped by the police. (But you would have to remember and make a choice from a list of answers, when asked in the game; for age, address and place of work questions, that are usually asked during store credit checks or by the police when they stop you)!

I digress; (I just did it to say, that our ideas- (the movie makers and mine), are on the same lines! Lets go back to the work of the Trash-master and the film.

Like intimated in the movie, the Trash-master can find stuff of value in the garbage and use the job to servile banks and businesses, (competition or enemies businesses or safe-houses for attack and robbery) In the film he used the Trash-master job to provide a front and cover for his vigilante work of trying to protect the working girls and strippers.

In conclusion, I particularly enjoyed the ending to the movie, not only the spectacular car chase and attention to detail with the twist of driver switch, but also the ensuing refuse workers strike in the news story report for the events to end the story. This movie gets a 10 out of 10 for storyline, attention to detail, and all the work that must have gone into producing it!

In all, great back-ground music choices, great locations within the game for the various scenes,
Written, Played, Directed and Edited by Mathieu Weschler. With Matt Challands as Niko, The movie was made entirely using the GTA4 video game as source. Fantastic!
