GTAV A NewGTAgame!

Pallet Machine Ideas For Pallet Factory In Business Game

These are specific examples that I would possibly like to see as designs within my perfect GTA game.

The ideas about the businesses side of my game design, are rough ideas of how the game could look and function. (The game is technically nothing to do with GTA as it is now, (at GTA4), except that I base my game ideas in and around the GTA4 game world as it is the closest thing to what I want).

In the specific machine design here, (in the video), I am thinking more about space that can be used as the player wants. Like The Sims game, you can re arrange and alter the layout of any and all furniture within rooms, alter internal walls and the like, (but that would be relative to real world costs and permissions from the city planning and health and safety within the game), and of course decorate internally etc.

Image that you can rent a building and use it for whatever you like, (again within the allowable uses and with the permission of the city planning etc), So, a factory unit or factory space, can be used to house goods like when it is used as a warehouse or can be used for house machines that you can bring in certain specific materials and turn out other products that can in turn be sold within the game world.

About the planning permissions and city health and safety etc. You must have these departments or it will make a mockery of the game, if you can just use any building for any use. You could really, but then you are in the realms of doing illegal stuff. So, like you might store cars in a warehouse and not actually be allowed to and if caught by city inspectors, would have a heavy fine to pay and a conviction added to your stats. But there would be ideas to get round this also.

But from the point of safety and insurance, you could not store diesel in drums in a warehouse or lock-up that is supposed to be used for food, or clothing perhaps and is in or close to a residential area or other property like that. (Just like in the real world. And this is a thing I never see being done correctly in any game. All games have faults with planning and logistics, that even defies logic. Like when you have storage rack or loading bays that cannot be possible used because there is not enough room to gain access. Examples: Alpha Mail sorting ware house for articulated vehicles access and storage shelves access at the scrap yard, where Johnny has his first gun fight to reclaim the gang leaders motorcycle)

Not to mention, the fork lift trucks don't work, and they easily could, ref - San Andreas mission CJ and Ryder steal guns from the army warehouse. Anyway, I digress, back to the pallet machine. The machine ideas I think about are machines that take up a certain grid space, as per ideas in The Sims, when you place objects that have a grid shape and show their orientation for access when working on those machines. So, you cannot just cannot bang it up against a wall.

Also though, you will be allowed to make mistakes, like your own choice of positioning in the factory space might not be the best for access or you night even block access or restrict access that makes the production run slower. Re- a place I once worked in had five machines, but restricted access, meant that people were having to wait and be delayed until other people or processes have finished until their work could continue. Things like supplying the machines with fresh raw materials and taking away produced goods etc.

The owner though he would get more production by buying five machines, but due to the space available, production increased when he took one machine out and put it into storage for spares and as a backup machine. (The machine actually broke down and that't why we took the machine out initially, to send it off for repair)! Production went up because of the easy access, that sped-everything up!

This video shows and set of square footprint machines, but if you also add the work or access area to each, they become rectangular. There is the building 'JIG' machine, a pallet stacker machine, (that you need access to free the odd jammed or miss-positioned pallet), and a run off conveyor where the pallets in stacks are temporarily held in storage, waiting to be moved to longer fixed storage areas or loading bays. You would also have to allow for fresh materials storage around each machine, and leave enough access for each of those areas to be accessible by a fork lift truck to bring the new materials in on a pallet.

More ideas later, post under construction. Will add audio later.

Have a great day!
Niko.
