Running-Scared Paul-Walker 2006-Film |
2006 Film. Paul Walker stars as a bent undercover cop, portraying a hood given the job of disposing of guns used in a cop-killing that he was part of. Other bent cops do a masked hit on a drugs deal where Walker is one of the criminals, in order to take both the drugs and the money for themselves.
It all goes tits up, and the cops get killed. The surviving hoods tell Walker to dispose of the guns. However he makes the mistake of keeping them hidden at his home. The guns are discovered by his son and his sons best friend.
His sons best friend later returns and takes one of the guns. Walker has to find the kid and the gun before the cops or his criminal buddies do, as he is going to be in big trouble from both sides.
The gun, a snub nosed attractive silver piece, changes hands several times and Walker has to chase it all over town to try and recover it.

There is an interesting side mission in the film, for Walkers wife, where she has to help free their sons best friend from child sex abusers, not connected with the criminal gangs or the rest of the movie. The film could have done without this distraction to the main plot.
Great gang shoot-outs (in the 'Drugs deal gone bad' and the 'Ice Rink' shootouts) and several face-offs with drug dealers and pimps alike. Quite a good reality-check of a movie, very believable and true to life, although a bit on the extreme side.

It would be nice to see more missions with gang shoot-outs, a bit like the GTA4 cop-side-missions, where you can use the police computer in the cop car to locate criminal activity. Only that, I would have this similar action, by spotting drug dealers or prostitutes on the street and pressing them for information with either a bribe or threat of violence.
I'm saying that only one form of threat or bribe-amount would bring forth the information that you need. ie. Threaten with a gun or with a blade or a bat. Maybe have to rough-up the victim a bit first to a certain level, where you could easily go too far and fail.

Alternately, a bribe of the right amount or in the form of tickets to see a fight or a game, or even 'plane tickets out-of-here', could be what you need. You just don't know and have to talk to the victim and ask the right questions from a conversation wheel that pops up when you get near people.
The conversation wheel would be contextual, or context based if you want to call it that. This is where different questions over and above the basic usual questions can be asked, that are relevant to the situation. So, if you are with a drug dealer, you might be able to ask who his or her supplier is, or the name of the person he or she just sold to. etc.

Once you have the info, the gang violence can start, if that is relevant to the situation. In the confrontation, I'd have different cut-scene killings or maneuvers that your character performs to knock-out or kill enemies, that is dependent upon the angle of approach to the victim and also set to a random variation.
So, you might approach a victim from the side, disarm him or her with an arm-lock and punch combination, ending with the victim kneeling and dazed witing for you to decide to kill them in several other fashions with any weapon.

Alternately, the same approach from the side might randomly go to a cut-scene of an execution via head-lock and neck-snap, or bashing in the victims face with the but of the gun you are carrying at the time. Pummeling the victim until they are dead.
I could go on and write many more of these events, but; I'd like to hear from you. Write in the comments or email me. See the post;
