The Negotiation Meter.

Scenarios in which the negotiation meter can be used.

• Wage negotiation in jobs when you work for other people.
• Wage negotiation in jobs when you are paying other people to work for you.
• Rental negotiation to agree on what rent to pay for residences or businesses.
• Lease negotiation when asking for rent for a property.
• Renting ad space on billboards around the city.

Paying bribes to:

• Police and public to look the other way.
• Corrupt officials like government departments / city planning.
• Union officials. (They can halt work or push workers to work harder).

Price negotiation when:

• Buying & selling goods in some scenarios.
• Buying & selling vehicles
• Buying & selling weapons.
• Buying & selling drugs.
• Buying & selling exotic items for you residences.
• Buying & selling businesses.
• Buying & selling properties.
• Agreeing purchase prices for materials and stock for your factories.
• Negotiating your interest rate when laundering dirty cash at the crooks bank.

What is the Negotiation Meter? (When I was trying to explain this to my kids, they couldn't understand what I was talking about, until I called it 'The Spinny Thing from Scarface')!

Technically, I've been told it is called the bargaining wheel, the decision wheel, the meter wheel, the negotiation reticule and all sorts of descriptions. Here's a video of it in action and some pics just to be clear.

There are other variations of this decision meter in other games, especially in sporting games like in golf, where you have a swing meter. Its basically the same thing! We have this swing meter already in GTA, TBoGT in the mission where Luis whacks golf balls at the guy tied to the golf cart.



We had one in GTH (Grand Theft HorseO). I mean Red Dead Redemption of course! Remember the horse-shoe throwing contest? I prefer this version better,since you can hold on to the button and try to let-go at the right time. The golf swing style in awkward and annoying! (And I don't like golf)!

A red line spins clockwise round the dollar sign, when you hold a button on your controller. If you keep holding the button, the clockwise motion continues to repeat over and over.

If you stop the progress of the movement by letting go of the button, in the first quarter, (between 12 and 3 on a clock-face), then you possibly will fail or get the lowest amount. The best you can do, is just before the 12 O'clock position.

You can talk your way out of arrest by police, negotiate the amount of cash you get or pay in drug deals both when buying and selling various items. Use it to lower the interest rate you pay when depositing / laundering money at the bank.

Some things do not need the negotiation meter, things like:

• Setting fuel prices in a fuel embargo, (only if you are selling fuel).
• Setting produce prices from your factories.
• Setting retail prices in your businesses.
• Setting wholesale prices at your warehouses.
